See, before us – the good folks of the Frederick, MD area were primarily stuck with either an unpleasant box store experience or online, which is sometimes difficult when it comes to lighting. The team at Winsupply believes that there is a better way! The Win way! And here’s our story!
In 2017, Crystal Maguire was recruited by Winsupply’s MIT military veteran program, as the first female veteran. She was trained on how to run a company from the ground up, right here at Frederick Noland. After she completed her training she combined her strategy with the experience and know-how of Noland’s long time lighting guru’s Bruce Watson and Tom Baugher. And in 2018, she bought out the electrical department of Noland and opened Winsupply of Frederick.
When we opened the doors in 2018, we began as strictly an electrical supplier. But as the next few years would unfold, we found that our community needed a better way to shop for lighting. Starting with online shopping, we slowly added lighting displays at our sales counter and in our office space. Our displays grew to include hundreds of fixtures in person, and thousands online. We then created the “Lighting Consultation”. Customers work one on one with an expert, we then store and deliver each fixture on demand, down to the last bulb. Now, anyone can walk in for a personalized lighting consultation. By providing concierge lighting services, we navigate price increases, supply chain delays, and add a boutique service that was missing in the industry.
Our devotion to making the process easy for homeowners and professionals in the building industry is our superpower.
